BEAUTY | Eyeliner

I want to perfect the art of eyeliner.  Right now, I'm terrible at it.  I can't draw a straight line, it smudges, and I end up starting the day looking like I've been out all night. 

This is what I'm after...

Birchbox - which, by the way I recently subscribed to and LOVE - has a pretty good tutorial on drawing the perfect line.

They make it look so easy.

And here is a great cheat sheet I found on Pinterest for creating a purrr-fect cat eye!

I think I may need to invest in some liquid liner or a fine tipped liner pencil.  Perhaps maybe one of the following:

One of my best friends is getting married this summer down in Texas, so we've been having fun pinning up a storm of ideas for the big day! The other day I came across this Etsy store, The Shoppe by Madeline Trait, which has the most beautiful and whimsical cake toppers. Madeline crafts the beautiful laser cut designs out of plywood which she then hand paints and decorates. Not only are these pieces perfect for celebrating a special day - whether it be a wedding, anniversary, birthday or shower - but they are pieces of art you can keep long after. Frame them, hang them or prop them up on a shelf and enjoy them the other 364 days.

One of the posts I'm going to bring you will be product "round ups" - a quick overview that will give multiple options for style and price point. Most of these round ups will focus on products I've recently been looking for. With everything at our fingertips these days, you would think it'd be a breeze finding exactly what you are looking for, but sometimes that perfect item is downright evasive. Well, hopefully I've manage to scout out some great finds. So sit back and relax, I've done the legwork for you!

The fist installment of the Round Up will be cribs.  Now, obviously with a child on the way, cribs have been front and center for me lately, and I think I have found a great collection of modern classics at price points for every budget.

Welcome to Orange Door Home!

Welcome to my new blog, Orange Door Home!  OD Home is a natural extension of my growing vintage furniture and accessories business. I started my shop, Behind the Orange Door a little over a year ago with my mother and business partner. We are both design obsessed and love to hunt for fabulous vintage pieces. We now sell through Etsy and One Kings Lane, so check out the side bar for links to the shops! 

I decided to start this blog as a way to connect with our customers and the larger design community.  This blog is going to be a little of everything - life, food, babies (we are having our first this summer) - but mostly it will center around home design. If having a first child wasn't enough, my husband and I are also moving this summer (hopefully before the baby comes), so I will have a new space to decorate and I can't wait to share the process with you!
